Many of us may have seen Chak de India. If you will ask the same from me then I would simply say 4 times (not because of Preeti Sabarwal)!! Because it is nice entertaining and appreciating movie that acclaim every where but if you didn?t get any positive lesson that help you to motivate and inspired in your daily life then I would say you have wasted your valuable time and money. The motive of this movie was If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.
There are lots of things that you can implement in day-to-day activities to make your life and work place smooth and successful. I learnt lots of things from the character Kabir Khan (we will talk about Preeti in next blog) because he was having strong determination to achieve his dream, the Hockey World Cup. In this movie Kabir possess some good qualities, some of them are listed below: Determination: He made a wrong decision once that changed his life. He embarrassed for it for long. He got bad remark and nobody had come forward to help him. However he was still very optimistic because he knew he was true to himself otherwise he could be one of them who would either suicide or would have accepted the situation that would have killed him each day. He planned and waits for the right time to come so that he can prove himself. Take away: We also face similar situation many times in our work place, at times we commit small mistake for which we receive bad remarks from the management and it directly reflect in our appraisal. In such situation, the management must know the capability of each and every sub ordinate who works under their umbrella. Tell people what they did right?be specific and tell people how good you feel about what they did right, and how it helps the organization and the other people who work there. Help People Reach Their Full Potential Catch Them Doing Something Right Trust: Kabir knew the strength of women hockey team. He was very well aware of the weak and the strong point of every team player. He knows that which place is most suitable for each player in spite of knowing their experience. Take away: Same applies in our work place as well, Manager should aware not only the weakness but also the strength. If some team member is not performing well in one area, they have to use his/her experience in other area. For instance, a team member is not performing well in development project as per the required standards then management has to give him for chance to grow in some other project (maintenance). Tell people up front that you are going to let them know how they are doing. Everyone is a Potential Winner Some People Are Disguised As Losers, Don?t let their Appearances Fool You. Management should create an atmosphere where employees feel good about themselves because this is how they can produce good result Respect veteran: Kabir Khan was very well aware about the potential of each team member. In spite of knowing that some experienced players were not satisfied with his working style, they can trouble him in future. On the other side he was also aware that without them he will never be able succeed in achieving his goal. Take away: This strategy is not only applicable in game but also in corporate world. Management should respect their tenured employees and have to use their strength and expertise in different area to grow their business. So by keeping ego aside, the management can try to involve them in employee engagement. They can positively retain their experiences employees and can use their experience to grow their business. Goals Begin Behaviors Consequences Maintain Behaviors
