We are facing recession in IT sector and lots of software companies are taking necessarily steps to cop with it. HR and Admin teams are taking certain crucial action plans to handle this situation. They have to showcase these actions in front of higher management too!
At one end HR team has taken some positive measures like:
- Stopped unnecessary recruitments for future requirement.
- Reduced the salaries of employees who are on bench.
But at other hand they have taken some extreme steps as well like
- Given pink slip to many employees who are on bench and those who are not performing well in their respective projects without giving any other chance.
Now, admin teams have to prove themselves in front of management. For this, they have to show the higher management that they are doing something good as well. And finally, they have started targeting project employee by:
- Reducing coffee mugs.
- Locking coffee machine after working hours
- Switching off light in working hours.
- Paying for Meal and Parking
Are companies saving a lot by doing this? Not really but actually they are giving more trouble to their employee who make money for them in crucial time by giving their dedication and hard-work.
There have been certain instances wherein the employees have to actually put their personal life below their professional life. Because if they will not do their job then their job would be at stake! And in other words, their personal commitments towards family responsibilities will be at stake. So, either by hook or crook they have to keep their personal life aside and have to spend more time in office for accomplishing their project deliverables.
Is there other better solution where we can reduce the side effect of recession?
