    Are you looking a job change with high compensation package?  Infact, you are in the direction of I have just discussed then probably. The key to successful negotiation is that you must understand your priorities and list them down to be able to relate your

    Benefits to your employer's needs. With successful negotiations you will not only pass on the clear message the hiring team that you are clear in your objectives but also be able to realize your own worth not only in that organization but also in the industry. 

     

    In order to get the best compensation package from the employer, you must plan and prepare yourself for negoagiation.  here are few tips which may help you in doing so.

     

    +   Know your baseline salary:

      

    Before you start negotiating with your interviewer, you must have a clear understanding about base pay for the position you have applied in the market, the location from which you will be operating.  i.e. how far is your current / new employer is from your residence.  You may also want to cover other financial factors like - family liabilities and cost of living of the city in which you would be working etc.  You may want to try some free online salary calculator on internet.

     

    + Identify and understand your needs:

     

    Think about what is most important to you in a compensation package. Is it salary, vacation time, stock options, or health care benefits? How will a higher salary or more time off improve your life, as well as the lives of your family? Before you begin negotiating with a hiring manager, it is vital that you determine your priorities, so that you can effectively argue for your needs.

     - However, if your demand is not met, still don?t give up so easily.  You may again, try negotiating in long term items, like - the increment in the annual appraisal after annual performance review etc.
