Here are some reasons why we should be using Six Sigma to make process improvements:

    - Implementing Six Sigma processes lead to the well organized stabilized process.  Which implies that if we follow the process, people will not forget any important steps along the way before they implement the solution. Following such practise over a period of time makes them the part of their regular activities and thats how it improves the process.

    -  The benefits from Six Sigma are always measurable which makes it easier to sell the improvements to the higher authorities in the organziation.

    - The analysis for Six Sigma is always data driven.  Having data driven analysis means talking about something with facts and proofs which leads to statistical testing to arrive at the right root cause instead of fixing symptoms or putting band-aids.

It has proven itself in a large number of deployments. Frankly, there is no better tool out there to make process improvements - especially when the root cause or the solution is not known.
